Error Messages

[23204] SCON: Failed to establish SCON communications

  1. The cable to the Power Distribution Board (PDB) may have failed. Unplug the connector from the PDB and plug it into any of the GENINE boards (J24/J26) to check that it is not at fault.
  2. If you hear relays clicking and the board constantly resets itself, either the Canbus is loose or it has the wrong version of code. Check that the Canbus is terminated at each end. If it is, plug the Canbus into the J13 connector and type "version" to check that the current code is loaded.

[22202] ALE2: GENINE %d satellite board %s cable disconnected
[22351] ALE2: GENINE4 satellite board %s cable disconnected

  1. Check the LEDs on the GENINE board.
  2. Check that the connections on the GENINE board aren't loose. Check also that the Canbus is terminated at both ends.
  3. Plug a diagnostic cable into connector J13 on the GENINE board to communicate directly with it. (This is also the connector through which code is downloaded.)
  4. Replace the GENINE board with any other GENINE on the machine. If the problem clears up, the original GENINE board was at fault. Replace it.

Replacing a Board

When replacing a GENINE board, bolt it on tightly. The contact area cools the stepper motor driver.
