Picker head retracts before wrist motion completes

Applies to
  • Trendsetter Autoloader Picker Upgrade

Component
  • Picker head

Problem
  • Picker head retracts before wrist motion completes.

Symptoms
  • Wrist fails to complete its full motion (45°) before the picker head retracts from the table.
  • Plates get pulled off the ledge.

Causes
  • Delayed wrist action, as a result of one of the following:
  1. An extra length of tubing, if tubing is routed down to the bottom of the frame and back up again.
  2. About 10 badly burred plates sticking together, because a larger pressure is required to bend the thick stack.
  3. A clogged speed control.

Solution
  1. Check that the wrist tubing is routed across the top of the frame to the manifold (see Install Procedure: Mounting the Picker Head and Routing the Wrist Tubing).
  2. If the routing is correct, try increasing the wrist out delay in SET ALDLY PWOD. The default should be 25 seconds.
  3. Ensure that the speed control is not clogged.
