Creating a CS Xpose engine log file

Product

  • CS Xpose 1.00.x and 1.01
  • Lotem™ Quantum

Platform

Intel, Dell® 2400 or 6400

Operating system

Windows® 2000

Background

Creates the CS Xpose engine log file for troubleshooting purposes.

Requirements

  • CS Xpose 1.00.076 or higher
  • Lotem Quantum 3.5.1 or 3.6
  • If running CS Xpose 1.00.76, download the CSXpose_debug_mode.bat to :/Xpose/version/bin/

Procedure

You need to run CS Xpose in debug mode to open and create a communication log between CS Xpose and the Lotem Quantum.

  1. Run CS Xpose in debug mode.
  2. Send the engine.log file to your Response Center or DU.

To run CS Xpose in debug mode:

  1. Exit from CS Xpose.
  2. On the Prinergy workstation desktop, right-click on My Computer.
  3. Select Explore from the shortcut menu.
  4. In the My Computer dialog box, browse to :/Xpose/version/bin/CSXpose_debug_mode.bat.
  5. Double-click on CSXpose_debug_mode.bat.
  6. CS Xpose opens in debug mode and an engine.log file is created.
  7. Repeat the workflow that caused the problem to update the engine.log file.

To copy and send the engine.log file:

  1. Browse to D:/Xpose/version/logs/engine.log.
  2. Open the engine.log in a text editor.
  3. Either, copy the information to the Response Center, or your DU, or save the file under a different name. Each time you restart CS Xpose the engine.log is overwritten.

Note: It is recommended that unless troubleshooting specific TIFF workflow problems, you also create the Prinergy to Lotem Quantum communication log file—GDAPIExpose.dll.
