Platesetter Console

Usually, Prinergy 2.0 connects to output devices via Print Console 2.0. However, Print Console cannot drive devices that use Green heads. To connect Prinergy 2.0 to an output device that uses a Green head, Platesetter Console 2.0 must be used as the device control software. This means that Prinergy 2.0 connects to the device via a direct connection with the Creo Recorder Interface (CRI) within Platesetter Console.

Hardware

Platforms

Print Console 2.x does not support Alpha. It supports Intel platforms only.

Output Devices

General:

Print Console 2.0 supports almost all Creo output devices, not including ex-Scitex devices and devices with Green heads. Some devices, such as the the TS 2637, TS400, VLF TS AL, Platesetter 3244, Platesetter VLF, and ThermoFlex, remain in Beta pending approval.

Platesetters:

Prinergy 2.0 cannot use Print Console to drive older output devices (including older Platesetters) that use Green heads because Print Console 2.x does not support the firmware used in those older machines. To connect Prinergy 2.0 to a Platesetter that uses a Green head, the Print Console team has qualified a version of Platesetter Console 2.0. This is not an officially released software package but is suitable for the handful of green devices in use.
