Debris collection nozzle is blocked (error number 27011/43011)

Product

All output devices with UDRC

Component

UDRC (POC Monitor, PACC Monitor)

Error

27011 (MPE) / 43011 (MCE): The debris collection nozzle is blocked

Causes/Solutions

Cause #1:  The debris collection nozzle is actually blocked.

Solution:  Clear the nozzle of any obstruction, such as a slipsheet.

Cause #2:  The sensor tube for the debris collection nozzle is connected to the wrong input on the pressure sensor.
Solution:  The nozzle sensor tube should always be on the LOW connection of the nozzle's pressure sensor. Setra brand sensors are labeled LOW and HIGH. For Motorola sensors, check the output device's UDRC documentation for the correct port.

Cause #3:  The nozzle pressure sensor is wired incorrectly.
Solution:  Check the continuity of the sensor wires, looking for shorts.

Cause #4:  Incorrect debris removal NVS parameters are being used.
Solution:  The latest nozzle-related NVS parameters are published in Debris Removal Firmware Guide-Parameter Values, Descriptions and Flowchart.

Note:  This is a common problem for Trendsetter NEWS devices that have TH2 heads, since the firmware defaults are for the TH1 debris collection nozzle.

Cause #5:  The debris blower motor introduced in FCO CA06163 has a higher flow that causes the nozzle pressure to exceed the maximum value set in the firmware.
Solution:  Use this procedure only for UDRCs with serial number DC2861 and up, or units that have FCO CA06163 (100 label #5) implemented.

  1. Move the carriage over the drum and spin the drum at normal imaging speed.
  2. Use set media x dopt (MPE) or set media x debrisoptions (MCE) to determine what part of the debris system must be turned on.
For options 2, 4 and 8, only the vacuum must be turned on.
For options 3, 5, and 9, both vacuum and airjet must be turned on.
  3. Turn the debris system on using the following commands:
MPE: act dr on (to turn on the vacuum)
act dblow on (to turn on airjet)
MCE: debris blower on (to turn on vacuum)
debris airjet on (to turn on airjet)
  4. Run a loop test or use debris x (where x corresponds to the debris option set in step 2) continuously for 30 seconds, and record the maximum nozzle pressure reported.
  5. Set the new pnmax (MPE) or pressmaxnozzle (MCE) parameter 10% higher than the value recorded in step 4.
For MCE devices, you must use prm hazardous media enable before you can change the debris settings.
