Kodak output devices may contain Class II, Class IIIb, and Class IV laser diodes, which are considered to be hazardous, but the overall laser product classification is Class I (non-hazardous at any length of exposure), based upon their overall protective housing and access panel safety interlock circuitry.
| Warning: Never operate these output devices with the safety interlock system defeated and an access door open, or with the optical encoder outside of it's protective housing |
Consult U.S. Federal Regulations 21CFR 1040.10 and 1040.11, and IEC Regulation 825 for more information about laser safety and classification.

|---|---|
| Thermal head: Write laser diode | Class IV |
| Thermal head: Focus laser diode | Class IIIb |
