Error

02334: The laser power is unstable

Symptoms

The plot fails with error 02334.

Cause

The movement of the shutter causes a mechanical vibration that interferes with beam pointing. This causes a variation in the M8 sensor reading. If the variation is greater than 2%, error 02334 is generated.

Solution

1. Run the script shtrglitch.spt. This script produces two graphs, one for when the shutter opens and another for when it closes. Failure is indicated at the bottom of the resulting graphs (see the sample graphs below). If there is a failure on either graph, you must replace the head.
2. If this does not solve the problem, complete the list of actions in error 02334.
