Hardware Installation
Installing a Single Cartridge Magnetic Tape (DLT4000 or DAT)

1. Perform steps 1-8 as described in the previous section.
2. To change the SCSI ID, press the buttons on the toggle switch, on the rear panel of the drive, to reach the required SCSI ID number.
3. Load a tape into the DLT4000, the indicator light of the tape density will light up.
4. If this is not the density you require, press the Density Select button until the indicator light opposite the density you require, turns on.
5. This light blinks initially, meaning that a density change is impending, it then remains steady and the Density Override light remains lit.
6. Power on the CreoScitex Server.
7. Verify that the DLT has been correctly configured.

(SciSmit->Devices->Peripherals -> List all Peripherals Devices ->List all System SCSI Devices).

Refer also to the Owner’s Manual supplied with your DLT package.

8. Remove the CreoScitex Distribution Media 3.5” NetWorker Installation diskette from the diskette drive and the CreoScitex Distribution Media NetWorker CD-ROM from the CD-ROM drive.

To configure other backup devices, refer to the manufacturers’ documentation for each specific device.
