Moving Legato Indexes to a Different Host

• Moving indexes onto the new host when the host name is identical to old one
• Moving indexes onto the new host when the host name is different from old one (ex:rdev9)
• Completing the move

The following is a suggested procedure to move Legato indexes from one host to another, where both machines are running Scheduled Archiving S/W.

Both file and media indexes are moved.

The procedure supports the case when the old host and the new host have the latest Legato version (5.X) installed.

Note: When moving indexes between platforms the Legato version on both platforms must be identical.

The new host must have installed on it:

• Legato 5.X (currently 5.1) with latest patches (See Appendix D).
• Enabler codes.
• Scheduled Archiver must be configured and enabled (Scitex password) on Archiver machines.
