This system extension enables the user to rename a PS file prior to
printing it.
The extension is automatically installed in the extensions folder, and the user is
prompted with a rename dialog on every print action.
In order to disable the extension, enter the extensions manager and turn the extension off.
Note that this extension is not opened when printing from PageMaker 5.

Spot Colors Xtension for QuarkXpress ![]()
This CreoScitex Xtension gives a QuarkXpress user interactive
control over how the the CreoScitex RIP handles spot colors that were defined
in the Quark document.
The Xtension also fixes a problem which causes blends containing spot colors to come out
black after RIP.
This extension requires QuarkXpress 3.3.1 or later.
For more details, consult the pdf file in the extension's folder.
This is a CreoScitex Plugin for Adobe Photoshop which lets
you create (export) files in the CreoScitex PSImage format, used in the CreoScitex
APR workflow.
PSImage files can be created for CreoScitex CT and EPSF files.
For a more detailed explanation, look in the docs found in the plugins folder.
This is an Adobe Illustrator EPSF Rider file which fixes a problem
with spot colors.
For a more detailed explanation on how to install and use, read the accompanying
'Illustrator Gradients - ReadMe'.
This small utility enables the user to update the Mac type and creator of a file to EPSF.
When printing a PostScript file to disk using LaserWriter 7.x, it is necessary to correct it with CasterEPS before copying it to the Brisque.
This utility can also be used for PostScript files originating from a different platform ( not MAC ) if the MAC does not recognize them as PostScript.
In order to cast a file's type, drop it on the utility's icon.
The purpose of this tool is to fix problems with PostScript Type 1 Fonts.
Currently this application corrects 2 problems:
The solution:
All you need to do in order to fix any Type 1 Font file is simply
ÒDrag & DropÓ the file (or group of files) on the FixFont utility, and thatÕs it.
As in any application that manipulates the data of a file, it is highly recommended to
back up the font before dropping it on the FixFont droplet. The FixFont droplet will
remind you to back the font up, but will not back it up for you.
Note that the FixFont droplet can be used to verify a font by dropping a copy of it on the droplet. If the file dropped does not need the above correction you will be notified.
Some versions of the Adobe Font Downloader fail to communicate with the Brisque station.
In such cases this Font Util can be used for downloading Macintosh Type 1 Postscript printer fonts from the Mac to the Brisque, using AppleTalk communication or diskettes.
The utility has 2 operation modes:
The location of the utility on your disk is irrelevant, it can be placed anywhere.
Note: This application only allows downloading of one font at a time.
This application translates TrueType fonts to PostScript Type 42 font.
In order to use the utility, either drag&drop a TureType Font
Suitcase or file on the application icon, or select the Convert option from the file menu.
If you wish to use the converted font on the Brisque station, select a Brisque hot-folder
as your destination folder. You can also convert to a local folder, and copy the file
later to the Brisque hot-folder.
(When a Postscript font is copied to any Brisque Hot Folder, it is automatically installed
in the Brisque Postscript Font Library for use by the BrisqueÕs RIP, and a proper message
is issued.)
The CreoScitex Printer Description files (i.e PPDs and PDFs) can be used to control some of the psrip, trap, expose and proof parameters, through the print dialog on the MAC.
PPDs are used by the following applications:
PDFs are used by QuarkXPress 3.x.
For a detailed explanation on how to use these Printer Description Files and what parameters they control, please refer to the Brisque user manual.
Note that this release includes 2 new PPDs for use when working with LaserWriter 8.4. (these new PPDs have _LSR8.4 in their names. Make sure to use them instead of the old ones if you're using the LaserWriter 8.4 print driver)
