Background |
You can mount
Brisque volumes on Mac OSX operating system by:
NFSManager is a small tool for easy access to the NFS features of Mac OS X. As an operating system with a Unix core, Mac OS X is able to support the Network File System (NFS) protocol according to internet specification RFC 1094. NFS is the accepted industry standard for sharing files between Unix systems. Although NFS is a built-in component of Mac OS X, users cannot access this feature without special knowledge and use of the command-line. NFSManager solves this problem by providing an easy-to-use Aqua interface for the definition of NFS connections. The NFSManager program helps to share files with other Unix systems. NFS is the industry standard among Unix computers for a network file sharing protocol developed by Sun Microsystems. Your Mac OS X system can either:
NFSManager does not do the actual network access itself. It only stores commands in a network database called NetInfo. All Mac OS X systems look for NFS definitions in the NetInfo database during startup. Then, the Darwin core of the Mac OS X operating system organizes the NFS mounts and exports based on the NFS entries found. (Note: This information was taken from the NFS Tool Manager web site. For more information, see the See also section below). |

Procedure |
The NFS Manager tool enables you to mount the Macintosh volume on the Brisque via MountPro via the following options:
From the NFS main menu, select Active Exports, otherwise ,the mount will not work. Note: When RIPing a PostScript in the Brisque and setting the Macintosh OSX volume as an output folder, the job arrives to the selected folder in the Mac OSX, and can be displayed successfully by PS/M. The application can export only one volume at a time (always the first one). This is a NFS Manager limitation. You must change read/write permissions from the Macintosh OSX terminal. |
