| NOTES: This is a black-and-white printer that is connected to the network via a special procedure. Please read Installing a Lexmark Network Printer for Use With TCP/IP to avoid on-site frustrations. | |
| What type of proofer is this? | |
| This is a b&w proofer with a PS2 RIP, so treat it like any other regular b&w printer. Spool EPS raster greyscale, setting to continuous tone. If you are trying to print out at 1200 dpi, it might be worthwhile to print out a screened EPS file, that is to say, a 1-bit file. | |
| Connectivity: | |
| Ethernet connection. | |
| Performance: | |
| The Lexmark web site claims a 24 ppm (12 ppm @ 1200 x 1200 dpi) and 14 seconds time to first page from an integrated 250-sheet tray. We have no feedback from customer sites about the veracity of that claim, so be cautious. Note that it only has a 133 mhz processor, so if your EPS file is bigger than 25 MB, expect a longer time than 14 seconds for print-out. | |
