| NOTES: There are three variations of the 780 model. Note that we have qualified only the high-end model, the 780 Plus, not the regular 780 model or 780 Graphics. | |
| What type of proofer is this? | |
| A color laser printer that can output at 1200 dpi. However, it has only been tested at 600 dpi. Maximum media size is 13"x19" inches (Super A3). It's got a lot of nice features, such as color profiles and support of the new remote printing internet spec, which make a popular printer, especially in Europe. | |
| Connectivity: | |
| Windows NT print device. Use an LPR port or the software setup package. Send it an EPS raster file that will be processed by the Adobe PS 3 RIP built into the printer. | |
| Performance: | |
From the Prinergy CD-ROM that
contains test files for laser printers.
The important thing to remember about these performance times is that these are letter-size (A4) pages and were screened by Prinergy beforehand. Continuous tone files will give better quality but will be much slower. To summarize, for customers looking to make high-quality proofs on this device, you can expect it to be very slow – the 780 Plus has only a 133 mhz RISC processor. |
