Error |

Symptoms |
Prinergy startup is very slow, the Prinergy Administrator shows the "... Deleting old temporary files" process for a long time. The customer may complain that the JTPs are taking a long time to start up. |
Cause |
During startup, Prinergy attempts to kill any Prinergy related process that may be lingering in the system. The Cleanup.bat script calls the utility ARXREAP to do this. ARXREAP may take a long time to execute if you have multiple network cards in the system, even if one of them is disabled in NT. |

Solution |
Change the Appletalk setting to 'Accept inbound connections on this adapter'. See the workaround: JTHN-0000051.asp to change the Appletalk setting. You can also uninstall the disabled network card in NT then either physically remove the card or disable the network adapter in the system's BIOS if it's built onboard the motherboard. To remove the unused network card from the system, complete the following steps: If the customer has a second network card installed in an I/O slot: 1) Uninstall the network card from Device Manager. 2) Shut down NT. 3) Remove the network card. 4) Restart the server. If the server is a DELL and the network adapter is onboard the motherboard: 1) Uninstall the network card from Device Manager. 2) Shut down NT. 3) When starting the server, go into the BIOS settings by pressing F2. 4) Press ALT P to get to the second screen. 5) Move down to the Ethernet adapter or NIC setting. 6) Press the right or left arrow to set it to OFF. 7) Press ESC to exit and reboot. 8) Check the AppleTalk setting as described above.
