Problems downloading? More...

If your file does not open correctly after downloading: breaks in data transmission during file transfers are common when network traffic is high. A break and subsequent restart may cause an error at the restart point, which results in a corrupt transfer. The end result is a file that does not open or run correctly. For example, *.exe files may not run, *.pdfs may not open, and *.zip files may be reported as invalid archives. The simplest solution is to retry downloading the file. If the problem persists, try to download the file when network traffic is lighter.

Prinergy Update Utility (PPU)
(06 Jul 2004)

Before downloading any 2.3 major or minor updates, the latest version of the PPU must be installed. For more information see FAQ: Prinergy Update Utility (PPU).

Note: To install or remove any major or minor update using this PPU, the Prinergy system must be in Maintenance Mode. Placing the system in Maintenance Mode prevents backups from running while you are installing/removing updates.

Prinergy 2.3.1.5 Minor Update
2.3.1.4
(28 April 2005)

For more details about this minor update, see the Prinergy 2.3.1.4 Readme.
Note: From this update the PDF Merge and PDF Compare features are released to Early Production.

Note: Do not upgrade Prinergy or Prinergy Evo sites connected to Veris 1.6 until updated Veris software is available

The Certified Process option in Prinergy 2.3.1.4, 3.0.2.2, and Prinergy Evo 3.0.0.53 does not work with Veris 1.6.904 and earlier. Do not upgrade sites to this configuration until an updated Veris software version is available. This software is expected to be available Aug. 3, 2005, and will require a service call. For more information on the issue, see the Creo Certified Process for Proofing in Creo Workflows document on the Veris Connectivity page.

Prinergy 2.3.1.4 Minor Update
2.3.1.3
(04 Feb 2005)

For more details about this minor update, see the Prinergy 2.3.1.3 Readme.
Please read the following notes!
Note 1: The Publish PDF command on PageSet causes Workshop to crash in Prinergy 2.3.1.3. This will be fixed in 2.3.1.4.
Interim workarounds:

  1. In the Pages pane, sort by page position, select first page, shift-select last page, and use the Publish PDF option.
  2. Select Pageset and use a Process Plan to output the multipage PDF using Vector JTP (rather than Publish PDF).
Note 2: The Printlink feature: Use custom file name when doing FTP is not in Prinergy 2.3.1.3, as was expected. It will be delivered in 2.3.1.4.

Note 3: Users of Pentium 3-based Primary or Secondary servers (Dell 6400, 4400 and 2500): We have recently discovered a potential problem that you might experience with Prinergy 2.3.1.3. The symptom is that the Primary or Secondary server completely locks up -- the display freezes and the keyboard and mouse become unresponsive. You need to reset the server using the front panel switch. Renderstations do not seem to be affected, nor do other hardware platforms (e.g. Dell 2600, 700). This problem is the highest priority for the Workflow team at Creo and we have people here, at Dell and Microsoft working together to solve it.

Prinergy 2.3.1.3 Minor Update
2.3.1.2
(20 Oct 2004)
For more details about this minor update, see the Prinergy 2.3.1.2 Readme. Prinergy 2.3.1.2 Minor Update
2.3.1.1
(20 Aug 2004)
This update includes the Imposed Vector Output fix and replaces the 2.3.1.1 update posted on July 28. Note that for the following devices, a direct connection to the 3016 RIP is not supported: Heidelberg Hercules, Primesetter, Quasar, Signasetter, Topsetter and Speedway Engine Manager. These devices will be supported in 2.3.1.2. For more details about this minor update, see the Prinergy 2.3.1.1 Readme. Prinergy 2.3.1.1 Minor Update

lanacfg.exe utility

There is an invalid assumption in our code that eth adapter 0 will always be present in a customer's machines. If the old eth adapter is replaced by a new one, during an upgrade to Prinergy 2.2 for example, the new one may not be assigned number 0 by NetBIOS. You can use the lanacfg.exe utility to rearrange the numbering of the newly installed adapters so that adapter 0 is always present in the system. This will prevent the error message: E ... ExtremeSerialNumberFromMACAddress: NetBios NCBRESET error: rc=35

To use this utility: More...

  1. Download (and unzip) the lanacfg.exe utility.
  2. Execute the command: lanacfg.exe showlanapaths.
  3. Take note of the Lana number for your adapter reported by the utility (for example, Lana: 3).
  4. Set the Lana number of your adapter to 0: lanacfg.exe setlananumber 0. For example, in the above case of eth number being 3, use: lanacfg.exe setlananumber 3 0.
  5. Update the registry with new settings: lanacfg.exe rewritelanainfo.
  6. Restart the computer.
  7. (Optional) Verify the new Lana number is 0 by executing: lanacfg.exe showlanapaths.
