NOTE: Starting with MCE BOOT v1.07, the MCE Boot code now uses the MCE's J38 serial port, instead of the previous J40 serial port. On the MCE board this J38 connector is labeled "SPR_COMM".
Firmware Component Descriptions:
| BBR |
Boot Block Recovery Code. This code runs from the protected flash boot-block sector and is only re-programmable by using the BMM card. |
| RECOVERY | Recovery Code. This firmware is downloaded over the MCE diagnostic serial port, when the BBR is running. Use Bload.Exe utility v1.09 or newer. Normally this will never be required, unless the BBR could not find valid Boot code. |
| BOOT | Boot Code. Runs from a field eraseable flash sector. Allows downloading of the main firmware using the diagnostic or workstation serial ports. |
