Adjustment

To adjust the open spacing and/or the closing pressure between the belts (figure A-2), proceed as follows:

Note: The two cranks connected by the threaded rod must have a center-to-
center distance between the connecting pins of 286mm +1mm (11.25" +.040").

  1. Loosen all three cranks (input cam shaft, output camshaft & actuating solenoid) by backing out the screws in the side of each crank.

  2. Rotate the cam shaft closest to the exit end of the conveyor counter clockwise, until a slight amount of resistance is felt as the belts are contacted by the internal roller.

  3. Rotate the crank, attached to the output cam shaft, clockwise until it touches the motor bracket stand-off, then tighten the screw.

  4. Repeat the above steps for the camshaft at the entry end of the conveyor. Be sure to rotate the crank arm clockwise when adjusting.

  5. With the two cranks adjusted, rotate the crank on the exit side to the full clockwise position. Extend the solenoid and tighten the actuating solenoid crank on the entry end camshaft. The solenoid actuating plunger should have approximately 22mm (7/8") of travel available.

  6. Energize the solenoid and make sure that it is fully retracted and seated.

  7. If the solenoid shows any indication of hesitation or buzzes after it is retracted, rotate the solenoid crank counter-clockwise slightly until the solenoid operates properly then tighten.

  8. Verify that the energized solenoid provides enough movement to allow material placed between the belts at either the entry or exit end to be held firmly. It is possible to pull the solenoid in by hand to simulate this action.
