Height Adjustment Procedure

Final leveling means that the platesetter is situated on a uniform horizontal plane at all four corners, and where the height of the platesetter is adjusted to enable smooth loading of the Cassette into the Cassette entrance of the platesetter. The final platesetter height is set according to the height of the Loading cassette trolley with the Cassette placed on it.

  1. Roll the Loading cassette trolley with the cassette to the front side of the platesetter, opposite the Cassette entrance (see Figure 2-4).
  2. Rotate the trolley so that it is positioned at an angle and push one corner into the Cassette entrance - in this position it is easier to check the alignment. Check the alignment of the Cassette with the Cassette entrance. The Cassette should be centered in the entrance.

  1. Rotate the trolley until it is parallel to the platesetter and push the other corner into the entrance. Check the alignment. Note that the cassette should fit symmetrically in the opening, as shown in Figure 2-5. The gap above and below the cassette should be 3 mm.

  1. If necessary, adjust the platesetter legs. The front legs are adjusted according to the cassette, and the rear legs are adjusted so that the platesetter is parallel to the floor. Place a standard leveling instrument on the main frame side door, and verify that the front and back of the platesetter are parallel. If not, adjust the rear legs. Open or close the adjusting nut of the rear leg and turn it clockwise or counter-clockwise, and then tighten the locking nut (see Figure 2-6).

Note: If the customer will be working with two cassettes, you need to check that both cassettes can be properly inserted.

  1. After the cassette and platesetter are properly aligned, tighten the legs by closing the locking nut of all four legs of the platesetter.
