Delay Test

The objective of the Delay test is to calibrate the Delay parameter used by the DDB (Data Distribution Board), so that the exposed horizontal lines are perfectly straight. The plate is exposed in 100 resolution and in different delay values. Based on the results, the delay value that corresponds to the best exposure is obtained. The optimal delay values for other resolutions are automatically calculated by the PC controller. Test results do not depend on plate type, size or thickness, so any plate the customer has may be used.

  1. Load the plate you intend to use for this test.
  2. From the Brisque Launch pad or from the Setup panel, double click the Calibration icon; the Lotem calibration window opens.
  3. Choose Delay from the Calibration Type menu.

  5. Current Plate is automatically read from the PC Controller.
  6. Unload policy - see in "Focus Test".
  7. Image Offset - see in "Focus Test".

Note: Press Get to load a previous delay test result from the PC controller.

  1. Test Delay values (mm): enter the requested delay values range. For example, if the listed delay value is 124.09 mm, it is recommended that you enter a range of 123 - 125.
  2. Number of steps: enter the number of exposures in the above range. Recommended - 11.
  3. Press Test to initiate the delay test according to the above setting.
  4. The application performs several exposures, according to the settings in the above window.
  5. Delay value: after the test is completed, enter the obtained delay value in this field.
  6. When the exposure is completed, develop the plate and examine the results.
  7. Based on the exposed plate, determine the optimal delay value for 100 dpm. Enter this value in the Delay value field in the Delay calibration window.
  8. Press Save to save the new delay value in the PC controller.
  9. Press Exit to exit from this window, or continue to another calibration test.

Note: If after the Delay test you are not sure the resolution value is correct, you should repeat the Resolution test.
