Thermal Direct Plates for Magnus 400 and Lotem 400

This document describes the conditions and settings required for working with Kodak^® Thermal Direct^™ plates on Magnus^™ 400 (LDA) and Lotem^® 400 (fiberhead) devices.

Environment and equipment

Kodak Thermal Direct plates are easily exposed by natural light and regular lighting conditions.
Therefore, make sure that the following conditions exist:

• Environment—the platesetter must be located in a yellow light environment.
• MCU—the MCU must have the sealing kit installed to prevent light from entering the MCU through gaps in its covers and the mainframe. See Sealing gaps in the MCU mainframe for Thermal Direct plates on Magnus 400.
  Note: The sealing kit is not required for MCU II devices.
• Debris removal—no debris removal is required, so the UDRC is not necessary.
