Resolving trailing edge clamp body failures on the Magnus 800 platesetter

Product

Kodak Magnus 800 platesetter

Symptoms

The lever on the trailing edge clamp (TEC) body fails to move.

Cause

During the manufacturing process, debris inadvertently penetrates into the TEC body lever. The debris causes the lever to become immobile.

Solution

  1. Remove the six TEC bodies from the drum.
  2. Dismantle, and then dispose of each TEC body.

  3. Reassemble each TEC body with the lever assemblies supplied in the Kit, assembly, mech, lever, TEC kit (part number 518-02134A).
Important: When reassembling the TEC body, only apply Loctite 242 adhesive onto the screws. Do not apply adhesive onto the lever or lever assembly.

  4. Make sure the lever on each TEC body moves freely up and down.
