The Trendsetter® NEWS Dual Bay option enables the fully automated selection of two different plate sizes during production when the Trendsetter NEWS is equipped with a NELA PL-T loader. This option is aimed at high plate volume customers who need to produce both single wide and double wide plates without any operator intervention. During production, the primary plate bay is the NELA PL-T plate trolley, and the secondary plate bay is the standard Trendsetter NEWS plate bay. Prior to production, the Trendsetter NEWS plate bay is loaded from the NELA PL-T.

Note: The Dual Bay option is not available as a field upgrade. It is a factory-installed configuration only.
Hardware and firmware differences between Trendsetter NEWS devices with the Dual Bay option and standard NEWS devices are described in the field service guide, below. Also note that the Dual Bay option requires a LIONEL board, the replacement of which is described in the procedure below.
