Detects any object falling across the path of a low-energy laser beam. The laser flyoff system is wired into the interlock loop.
To view the status of the sensor: drum
A low energy (Class II) laser source emits a beam from the encoder end of the drum. The laser emitter is wired into the door interlock loop, which turns off the laser beam as soon as a door is opened. The laser beam travels parallel to the drum surface to a mirror at the pulley end of the drum which reflects the beam to a receiver mounted at the encoder end of the drum. The signal generated at the receiver is transmitted to the ESE board. Any interruption in the beam results in the Platesetter sensing an obstruction below the leading edge clamps.
