Description

Located on the ball nut and the engine frame, used to ensure registration accuracy and repeatability.

Commands

To view the temperature: ale

NVS parameters

The coefficients for thermal expansion correction are located in the NVS GC module. They are set at the factory and should never be changed.

To disable the frame temperature correction: set gc ftc 0

To disable the ballnut ballscrew temperature correction: set gc lstc 0

Theory of operation

The temperature signals are transmitted to the ESE board. The firmware corrects for temperature variations in the engine to ensure registration accuracy and repeatability.
The ball nut temperature is an indication of the ballscrew temperature. Expansion or contraction of the ballscrew can change the effective subscan distance across the plate.
The frame temperature is an indication of the drum temperature. Expansion or contraction of the drum can change the effective mainscan distance across the plate.
