Thermal3 Command
(requires ENG access)
lvd (<offset> <width>|all) level (high|low) <level>

Variables offset Specifies the first spot to configure from 0 to 463.
width Specifies the number of spots to configure from 1 to 464.
level Specifies the spot level from 0 to 255.

Description Set the spot level for the specified polarity and range of spots. The spot level, configurable for spot quads, will range from 0 to 255. A spot level of 0 configures the maximum spot power and a spot level of 255 configures the minimum spot power.

The spot levels will typically be determined by a beam-balance. The results of the beam-balance, performed either automatically or by the monitor command bbs balance, are saved by the NVS parameter med <media index> stroke <polarity / spot quad>.

The spot level configuration can be updated as required, but only takes affect for the "Plot" and "Local" light valve control modes.

The NVS parameters med <media index> strokeoffset and med <media index> strokewidth configure the stroke. Note that the configured stroke does not affect the spot offset.

Notes Thermal 1.0 / 1.7x equivalents:
  • The monitor command lvd (<offset> <width>|all) level (high|low) <level> replaces stroke <offset> [<level>] and stroke init <level>.
  • Thermal 1.0 / 1.7x inverts the spot levels for the monitor commands. A spot level of 33 sets the spot power to 100% and a spot level of 0 sets the spot power to approximately 75%.
  • Thermal 1.0 / 1.7x implements a unipolar driver.

Thermal 2 equivalents:
  • The monitor command lvd (<offset> <width>|all) level (high|low) <level> is comparable to lvd (<offset> <width>|all) level <level>.
  • Thermal 2 implements a unipolar driver.
