| satellite
| The satellite port address from 0 to 9.
| register-hex
| The first register to display ( in hexadecimal ).
| length
| The number of registers to display.
For Head controller version 1.x and less the valid satellite port number are:
- 0 = Nose Piece Electronics (NPE)
- 1 = Actuator (ACT)
- 2 = Power and Beam Pointing (PBP)
- 3 = Internal Beam Balance Sensor (IBS)
- 4 = Differential Beam Pointing (DBP)
- 5 = Write LAser Controller (WLC)
- 6 = Range Finder Electronics (RFE)
- 7 = Light Valve Driver Upper (LVDU)
- 8 = Light Valve Driver Lower (LVDL)
- 9 = Power and Beam Pointing version 2 (PBP2)
| For Head controller version 2.0 and greater the valid satellite port number are:
- 0 = Nose Piece Electronics (NPE)
- 5 = Write LAser Controller (WLC)
- 6 = Range Finder Electronics (RFE)
- 9 = Power and Beam Pointing version 2 (PBP2)

| This monitor command is intended only for development purposes. It allows the display of satellite board registers with several display options designed to aid in scripting versatility. Every satellite board implements 32 / 64 16-bit registers mapped to main memory. These main memory locations are refreshed with serial data transfers from specified satellite boards before being displayed by the monitor command. Since most satellite registers fulfill specific requirements for each satellite board, the user of this monitor command must have intimate knowledge of the specified satellite to make much use of the displayed register values. An example of the simplest form of this command is shown below:
| TH3 > sat dw 1
ACT satellite board registers
A0008600 - 1115 0401 085F 0805 043D 0605 0803 005B
A0008610 - 0005 0004 0001 FFFF FFFF 0001 0401 FFFF
A0008620 - FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF 01BF 0000 051F
A0008630 - 0001 1003 1000 0001 1000 0000 1000 0000
A0008640 - FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF
A0008650 - FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF
A0008660 - FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF
A0008670 - FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF
*** Command Success *** |
| Here the user specifies only the satellite number 1. The first output line displays the satellite board's mnemonic name. Satellite board 1 is the 'ACT' board in this case. The user either already knows the satellite board number of interest or has determined this by use of the monitor commands sat ver or sat (install|uninstall) [<satellite>]. The first register defaults to zero ( i.e. the minimum value ) and the number of registers defaults to 64 ( i.e. the maximum value ). The memory addresses are displayed at the beginning of each line of eight registers.
| The user may add a first register argument on the command line as shown in the following example:
| TH3 > sat dw 1 10
ACT satellite board registers
A0008610 - 0005 0004 0001 FFFF FFFF 0001 0401 FFFF
A0008620 - FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF 01BF 0000 051F
A0008630 - 0001 1003 1000 0001 1000 0000 1000 0000
A0008640 - FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF
A0008650 - FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF
A0008660 - FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF
A0008670 - FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF
*** Command Success *** |
| The display now begins at address A0008610h and displays all satellite registers from that point on. Note that only the last byte of the register address should be entered. In this example only '10h' from the full address 'A0008610h' is used. This is actually the register number times two since each register consumes two bytes of memory.
| The user may also add a length argument to the command line as in the following example:
| TH3 > sat dw 1 30 1
ACT satellite board registers
A0008630 - 0001
*** Command Success *** |
| The display now begins at address A0008630h and displays a single register.
| To display the registers on LVDP and LVDN satellite boards, use the 'sat dw (lvdp|lvdn) <board> [<register-hex> [<length>]]' command.
Thermal 1.0 / 1.7x equivalents:
- The monitor command sat dw <satellite> [<address-hex> [<length>]] does not have an equivalent.
| Thermal 2 equivalents:
- The monitor command sat dw <satellite> [<address-hex> [<length>]] does not have an equivalent.
