Networker Installation and Configuration
Pre-Installation Requirements

Software

1. New CreoScitex software (Timna and up) is installed and operational on your machine.

• Where the software is version 2.2.30 or below, see "Downloading CD software for systems other than Ripro3000/5000".

2. TCP/IP is configured and active.
3. Verify that the system date is correct, type smit date and press Enter.
   Change parameters to match the correct date.

If you are reinstalling the software on the machine where Legato Indexes exist, do NOT change time/date.

1. Any DLT Jukebox that is already connected to the system must be removed.
   At the command prompt type rmdev -l devicename -d and press Enter.
2. For 41T/W or 42T/W models, you need a free SCSI ID for the on-board SCSI controller, for RS5XX models you need a free SCSI ID for a separate SCSI adapter or SCSI-2 Fast.

For PCI models, connect each device according to its configuration:

• Connect 4000/4500 Quantum devices to F/W adapter.
• Connect Q47 Breece Hill machines to an ultra-single SCSI adapter.
• Connect Q2.15 machines to a single adapter.
