Error Number: 15374

Error Message:

ALE: Drum vacuum level too high, threshold = <n>, current level = <n> (index word)

Applies to:

  • Trendsetter_400/800_Proofing

Operator Action:

This error is likely due to the media not being loaded properly. Select RESUME from the workstation dialog box. If that doesn't correct the problem, select CANCEL IMAGE from the workstation dialog box. You may need to open the proofer and remove the media if it isn't ejected on it's own. If CANCEL IMAGE is not available, select CLEAR and make sure that you remove all media other than the carrier in the machine. If this problem recurs frequently contact Creo service.

Service Information:

If the machine already has media on the drum of a similar type to that which is currently being loaded, remove the loaded media and continue. Otherwise, when the problem occurs, determine if the media is loaded correctly. If it is not, watch a few load/unload cycles with the doors open and try to determine what is going wrong. If the media is being loaded correctly, then the vacuum sensors are not working properly or the vacuum thresholds are mis-adjusted. You can check the vacuum sensor readings using the "proof" command. Additionally, at the end of the error message, an index word is printed to help determine which threshold in NVS is being used when error occurs.

  • (unload_0b) : dvdt
  • (unload_4) : dut
  • (unload_10a) : dvdt
  • (unload_10b) : dvrt

Please make sure that the error is NOT due to mechanical alignment before adjusting NVS thresholds.

Service Information:

The sensors can be over-ridden using the "alproof vsi" parameter. This will allow the machine to operate, but in a much slower and more dangerous manner. In this state, the machine should only be used if absolutely necessary and if it will be fixed very soon. When the sensors are disabled, the machine is running "blind", so it could incur additional damage if used. Use extreme caution.

Cause:

  • The machine checks vacuum levels on the drum before loading media to ensure that there is nothing already on the drum. The error is most likely due to the media being loaded incorrectly. It is also possible that the drum vacuum sensor is not working properly or the thresholds are not set properly.
