Solenoid Replacement

Conveyor Solenoid (Cat #315A10300)

Overview

The Solenoid (Cat # 315A10300) is located on the left side of the conveyor. It is used to attach both sides of the belts after the film is inside the conveyor. (Film presence in the conveyor is signalled by one of the front magnetic switches.)

Replacement Procedure

1. Turn off the plotter.
   
   
2. Pull out the conveyor assembly.
   
   
3. Disconnect the solenoid pin (#14) by removing the cutter pin (#15). This will disconnect the solenoid from the rod (#10).
   
   
4. Disconnect the two electric wires from the solenoid.
   
   
5. Release the 4 screws (#69) and remove the solenoid.
   
   
6. Install the new solenoid. (Use this procedure in reverse order.)

Check

Check the conveyor operation and make sure that the solenoid closes the belts after film is inside the conveyor and opens the belts after the processor puls the film from the conveyor.
