Answers

  1. The "Type II" represents significant improvements in the devices.
When we created the "Quantum-Ready" device, it was a significant improvement over the non-ungradeable Lotem Fiber Head. Hence, it became the "Lotem 800 II".
Now, we are improving the performance of all the TH-based 8-up devices, so all will be "type II".

  3. Quantum Ready platesetters are Lotem 800 II platesetters that can be upgraded to Quantum platesetters. Back to Questions
  4. To upgrade a Lotem 800 II (Quantum Ready) platesetter to a Quantum platesetter, it is necessary to replace the head with a SQUAREspot™ head and install the Win2K kit upgrade kit.
  5. Every platesetter is shipped from the production line with a configuration sheet defining the head type, software, speed, Windows version, and so on.
In the Lotem GUI, a special window will contain all the relevant information. Please refer to the pictures at the end of the presentation.
  6. Any Lotem 800 Quantum can be upgraded to the higher throughput. The upgrade kit is in the price book.
  7. The Spectrum performance is the same as today on the Lotem 800 Quantum with regard to speed operation and quality. Back to Questions
  8. The Lotem 800 Fiber Head will remain as it is today, with the unique option of variable resolution.
  9. This head is different from the current Lotem 800 Quantum heads. The qualification process is for 3x3 pixel (25 micron), while the regular Lotem Quantum head is qualified for 2x2 pixel (10 micron). The TH2 P33 head has a different part number with a clear identification label on the head and on the shipping case.
  10. There are several reasons for two kinds of P33 heads; one that can identify itself as P33 ("Smart P33 head"), and one with a configuration that cannot be read by software. Both P33 heads can expose with the same maximum 25 Staccato quality. Back to Questions
  11. An improved mainframe or chassis has been developed for the platesetter. This latest mainframe, referred to as the Type II mainframe, is more functional than its predecessor and contains greater service access.
