- Loose connection
Check that the following connectors are fully plugged in:
- TMCE J21
- Registration board J1 and J2
- Connectors between cables 10-9069A and 220-00094A
- Registration probe assembly J1
- Faulty registration continuity switch (500-00855A)
Located on the LEC backbone (see the Sensors and Switches page for a photo). Check
the voltage on the switch contacts: It should be 5VDC when the LEC backbone is up and 0VDC when the backbone
is down (leading edge clamps are open). If there is always 5VDC on the switch contacts (error 40737), then the switch is broken.
If there is always 0V on the switch contacts (error 40736), then the cables or boards may be faulty.
- Faulty cables
- Disconnect cable 10-9069A from J2 on the registration board (inside the power box).
- With the LEC backbone down, connect a jumper between pins 6 and 7 and check the continuity on the leaf switch contacts: If
there is no continuity, check for bad crimping or broken wires on cables 10-9069A, 220-00287A, and 220-00094A. If there is continuity, remove the
jumper, connect cable 10-9069A, and disconnect cable 10-9070A from J21 on the TMCE and J1 on the registration board.
- With the LEC backbone down, check cable 10-9070A for bad crimping or a broken wire between pins 3 and 4 on the TMCE side and between pins 2 and 3 on the
registration board side.
- Faulty registration board (10-9053A) or TMCE board (10-4766D)
- On J21 of the TMCE, connect a jumper between pins 3 and 4 (pin 1 is at the bottom right corner of J21).
- Type
>>scan reg&monitor to check the status of the continuity switch: If the status is 1 (and the status is 0 with the jumper
removed), then the TMCE board is OK and the registration board needs to be replaced. Otherwise replace the TMCE board.
