Drum: Timeout waiting for TPU hall sensor PWM measurement (error number 6026)

Applies to

  • VLF Platesetter
  • VLF Trendsetter
  • Platesetter 3244
  • Trendsetter 3244

Description

Message issued. Problem with Hall signals from the drive amp not getting to the MPE.

Causes and solutions

See Drum drive amp hall LED test in General VLF drum drive, encoder, and PLL troubleshooting.

Checks:

  1. Check for blown fuses on the PDB. See Drum does not move at all (error number 6026).
  2. Check LEDs 7, 8, 9 on main drum drive amp. See Proper LED sequence, 3244 or Proper LED sequence VLF.
  3. There are no fault LEDs ON on the main drum drive amp; the Status LED is ON; and there is no "drum amp fault" error message. If the drum did not move at all, but emitted a soft squeal or arcing sound, then this could be caused by a short in the drum motor power cable or drum motor.

Unplug J2 from the drive amp (with power ON) and re-connect again (this resets the drive amp). Ensure that the LEC and TEC backbones are up, then enter "Drum Init". If the over-current fault (LED1) or current limit (C.Limit) LEDs turn ON, see the Current Limit or Over-current Fault Indicators troubleshooting note.

  4. Check the Hall sensor power.
  5. Check the 14 wire flat cable from J2 of the drive amp to J6 on the card cage backplane.See Main drum drive 3244, VLF main drum drive.
  6. Check the motor cables.
