Thermal Head 2.0 Installation

This document is intended for Field Service Engineers who have attended a thermal head introductory course and are familiar with safety precautions.
The TH2.0 focus laser is a hazard for up to 1.2 meters from the aperture of the head.
(The safety interlock override keyswitch will not enable the TH2.0 focus laser or the write laser.)

Always lift the head by the two retractable handles that slide out from each end.
Always wear an antistatic wrist strap to prevent static discharge from damaging the head.

Details - Prepare the Head

  1. On the end of the head that has the connectors, attach the mounting blade (57-8076A) on the outside of the casing, using M4x8 mm socket cap screws (52-4459) and 1 mm thick Belleville washers (52-4261).
  2. On the opposite end of the head, slide the mounting blade (57-8076A) under the black sheet metal before inserting M4x8 mm socket cap screws (52-4459) and 1 mm thick Belleville washers (52-4261).
  3. Install the debris removal nozzle mounting lip onto the bottom 2 holes on the TH2 head, with one M4x12 screw and the M4x25 screw.
  4. Carefully place the TH2 debris removal nozzle on the head and bolt it to the head with two M4x12 screws. Fasten the two screws evenly and securely.

Warning:  Do not scratch the final window optic on the TH2 head while installing the nozzle.

  5. Route the hoses of the debris removal nozzle around the side of the head with the cables.
