Problems downloading? More...

If your file does not open correctly after downloading: breaks in data transmission during file transfers are common when network traffic is high. A break and subsequent restart may cause an error at the restart point, which results in a corrupt transfer. The end result is a file that does not open or run correctly. For example, *.exe files may not run, *.pdfs may not open, and *.zip files may be reported as invalid archives. The simplest solution is to retry downloading the file. If the problem persists, try to download the file when network traffic is lighter.

Prinergy Update Utility (PPU)

Before downloading any 3.1 major or minor updates, the latest version of the PPU must be installed. For more information see the FAQ: Prinergy Update Utility (PPU).

Note: To install or remove any major or minor update using this PPU, the Prinergy system must be in Maintenance Mode. Placing the system in Maintenance Mode prevents backups from running while you are installing/removing updates.

PUpdate.exe PUpdate.exe, the Prinergy update application, is the software used for upgrading to Prinergy 3.1 and applying major and minor updates. Prinergy 3.1 update application

Major Upgrade

Major Upgrade Description Download
3.1.0.0
(08 June 2006)
For details about this major upgrade, see the Prinergy 3.1.0.0 Readme. NOTE: When you install Prinergy 3.1 a short time after installing Prinergy 3.0, and PreCheck fails with an error stating that the Path Migration has not finished yet, check the path migration status in Prinergy Adminstrator. If the path migration has stalled or is very slow, contact the Kodak Response Center before re-trying the 3.1 upgrade.
NOTE: If you upgrade to Prinergy 3.1.0.2 or later from Prinergy 2.3, it is not possible to roll back to Prinergy 2.3. Kodak strongly recommends that you first upgrade to Prinergy 3.0.3 and run it for a short period to ensure that there are no issues, before you upgrade to Prinergy 3.1.0.2 or later.

Prinergy 3.1.0.5c (Kodak fast download link)
3.1.0.5b
(01 Mar 2007)
NOTE: Prinergy 3.1.0.5b was removed from eCentral because of a problem where the Mac Workshop installer on the server could be incomplete after the upgrade. Customers who have successfully installed 3.1.0.5b might experience the following problems:
1. Preflight reports may be missing messages: to solve this problem, copy the files from the PreflightTranslations.zip file into the $AraxiHome\CreoAraxi\Preflight directory.
2. When upgrading Workshop on Mac PowerPCs with OS 10.4.8, the Preps install fails. As a workaround, you can uninstall and reinstall Workshop on your Mac.

3.1.0.4
(30 Nov 2006)
For details about this minor update, see Prinergy 3.1.0.4 ReadMe. Note: Prinergy 3.1.0.4 does not include an update for Prinergy Workshop. This means that Prinergy 3.1.0.3 will still appear as the Workshop and server version in the login screen after you have updated to Prinergy 3.1.0.4. Prinergy 3.1.0.4 minor update
3.1.0.3c
(03 Oct 2006)
For details about this minor update, see Prinergy 3.1.0.3 Readme.

Note: Customers with Veris or Matchprint proofers must install Windows Microsoft Installer 3.1 before applying the Prinergy 3.1.0.3 minor update. The 3.1 installer ensures the complete installation of Microsoft components required for proofer connectivity. Download it from the Microsoft Website

Note: Customers using Prinergy in combination with XPO (v3.00.79) to connect directly to a Lotem or Magnus, might experience a problem where Prinergy jobs are displayed in XPO software v3.00.79 as if they failed, although the jobs were successfully exposed. To solve the problem, customers must install the Xpo3.00.79 Fail End Expose_Patch.

Note: There is a known issue when using Prinergy 3.1.0.3 together with Kodak Proofing System version 3 and later. Customers using this combination must replace the old NPROOF.DLL file with the new NPROOF.DLL file for Prinergy 3.1.0.3 and KPS v3 and later. NPROOF.DLL is located in \AdobeExtreme\bin and \CreoAraxi\bin. Locate both files, rename them to NPROOF.OLD, and replace them with the new NPROOF.DLL file. Restart all Printer JTP's to allow the changes to take effect.

lanacfg.exe utility

There is an invalid assumption in our code that eth adapter 0 will always be present in a customer's machines. If the old eth adapter is replaced by a new one, during an upgrade to Prinergy 2.2 for example, the new one may not be assigned number 0 by NetBIOS. You can use the lanacfg.exe utility to rearrange the numbering of the newly installed adapters so that adapter 0 is always present in the system. This will prevent the error message: E ... ExtremeSerialNumberFromMACAddress: NetBios NCBRESET error: rc=35

To use this utility: More...

  1. Download (and unzip) the lanacfg.exe utility.
  2. Execute the command: lanacfg.exe showlanapaths.
  3. Take note of the Lana number for your adapter reported by the utility (for example, Lana: 3).
  4. Set the Lana number of your adapter to 0: lanacfg.exe setlananumber 0. For example, in the above case of eth number being 3, use: lanacfg.exe setlananumber 3 0.
  5. Update the registry with new settings: lanacfg.exe rewritelanainfo.
  6. Restart the computer.
  7. (Optional) Verify the new Lana number is 0 by executing: lanacfg.exe showlanapaths.
