Configure the write laser control mode.
| The user can use the monitor command sys laser on to turn on the write laser. While the monitor command laser on will turn on the write laser in blocking mode ( the monitor command will wait for completion ), the monitor commands sys laser on and sys laser state will turn on the write laser in non-blocking mode ( the monitor commands will return immediately ). This allows multiple functions to be performed simultaneously.
| For example, the user can use the monitor command sys laser on to initiate the "On" write laser control mode to turn on the write laser. If successful, the exposure head will continue to turn on the write laser while the user can continue with other processing ( for example, initiating a focus learn ). The user can use the monitor command sys laser state to determine the status of the write laser control mode.
| If the user attempts to access the write laser while the exposure head is turning on the write laser ( for example, a stroke calibration ), an error will indicate that a command is in progress. However, the user can use the monitor command sys plot abort to abort turning on the write laser.
| The user can use the monitor command sys laser off to turn off the write laser. Whether successful or unsuccessful, the write laser has been turned off.
| The user can use the monitor command sys laser to display the state of the write laser. If the write laser has been turned on ( or is being turned on ) in power mode, the information displayed is as follows:
| SYS: Mode=On
| SYS: Setpoint Power=<Setpoint Power> Watts
| SYS: Laser Power=<Laser Power> Watts
| If the write laser has been turned on ( or is being turned on ) in current mode, the information displayed is as follows:
| SYS: Mode=On
| SYS: Setpoint Current=<Setpoint Current> Amps
| SYS: Laser Current=<Laser Current> Amps
| If the write laser has been disabled ( by either the laser power supply or the NVS parameter sys laserenable ), the information displayed is as follows:
| SYS: Mode=Disable
| If the write laser has been turned off, the information displayed is as follows:
| SYS: Mode=Off
| Note that the user should determine when the write laser has been turned on from the monitor command sys laser state and not the monitor command sys laser. While the monitor command sys laser will display the state of the write laser, the firmware will consider various factors before concluding the write laser has been turned on successfully.
