Contains most of the electronics and power supplies

Located on the right end of the TS3244 (TS3, TS3/8)
Located on the left end of the TS3244 (TS8)

TS8 machines are auto configuring (or wide ranging). The unit has a voltage range of 200-240 V (including tolerances the voltage range is 180-264). Therefore, NO jumpers are required.

For TS3, the voltage rating is 200-208 / 220 / 230-240 V, with jumper settings on a DIN rail, and on terminal blocks in the last design ~SN60+. For more some quite ancient info on TS3, see Power Distribution.

The main components are:

• Card cage (MPE)

• Power distribution board (PDB) 10-1421A (TS3)

• 10-3627C board (TEE) (TS8)

• Main drum drive amplifier (MDA) 15-3330 (TS8 - S/N TE237, TE234 and lower, except TE174, TE195, PX071 and lower)
• Main drum drive amplifier (MDA) 15-3466 (TS8 - S/N TE174, TE195, TE235, 236, 238 and up, PX072 and up, all TN)

• Carriage motor driver board (CDB) 10-1418(TS3, TS3/8 and TS8 - S/N TE237, TE234, PX071 and lower).
• Carriage motor driver board (CDB) 10-3761 (TS8 - TE235, 236, 238 and higher, PX072 and higher)

• PS1 
  TS3, TS3/8 - Switching Supply - 10-3213B
  • Obtains 120 V AC input from PD board via AC harness
  • Provides power to PD board via DC harness
  • Provides +5 V DC logic voltage to the main drive amp
  • Switching supply +5/+12/-12VDC, 15/6.2/4.2A
  • Located on the floor of the power box on the right side
  • The card cage use all three voltages obtained from PDB via DC harness
  • The satellite boards (LU,TIF, or TEE) use +5 V obtained from PDB

  TS8 - Switching Supply - 10-3966B
  adapter cable - 220-00034B

  • Obtains 220 V AC input
  • Provides +5 V DC logic voltage to the main drive amp
  • +5/+12/-12VDC
  • Located on the top of the card cage

   

• PS2
   TS3, TS3/8- Switching Supply - 13-4750
  • Obtains 120 V AC input from PDB via AC harness
  • Provides power to PDB and BP via DC harness
  • Switching supply +24VDC, 8.3A
  • Located on the floor of the power box on the left side

  TS8 - Switching Supply - 13-4862

  • powers TEE and ALE boards
  • +24VDC
  • Located at the top of the power box near the back

   

• PS3

  • Obtains AC input from PDB via AC harness
  • Provides isolated power to carriage motor driver board
  • Switching supply +5/+12/-12VDC, 2.0/0.4/0.4A
  • Located to side of card cage at top above PS4

  WARNING: Used in conjunction with High Voltage

  • Operates on 240VAC input
  • Provides isolated power to carriage motor driver board
  • +5/+12/-12VDC
  • Located on back wall of power box near top

  TS3, TS3/8, TS8(S/N TE237, TE234 and lower, except TE195, PX071 and lower)
  Switching Supply - 13-4127
  WARNING: High Voltage
  • Provides power to carriage motor driver board via DC harness
  • 85VDC
  • Located to side of card cage above CMD (TS3, TS3/8)
  • Located on right wall of power box (TS8)
  
  TS8(S/N TE195, TE235, 236, 238 and up, PX072 and up, all TN)
  Switching Supply - 13-5109
  WARNING: High Voltage
  • Provides power to carriage motor driver board via DC harness
  • 48VDC
  • Located on right wall of power box (TS8)

• PS5/6
  TS3, TS3/8 - Switching Supply - 13-4755A (24V for TEH1.0)

  WARNING: Very High Current
  • Obtains AC input from PDB via AC harness
  • AC input controlled by a relay that turns off power when a door is opened or when the head is disabled
  • Located on rear wall of power box at top

  TS8 - Switching Supply - 13-3503 (for 1.0, 20W head) or 13-4832 (for 1.7, 40W head)
  WARNING: Very High Current
  • Supplies power to thermal head only
  • AC input controlled by a relay that turns off power when a door is opened or when the head is disabled
  • +25VDC (for 1.0, 20W head) or +48VDC (for 1.7, 40W head)
  • Located on floor of power box below card cage
• PS6 
  TS8 - Switching Supply - 13-4832 (for 1.7, 40W head)
  WARNING: Very High Current
  • Supplies power to 1.7 thermal head only
  • AC input controlled by safety interlock relay K1
  • +48VDC
  • Located on floor of power box below card cage - next to PS5
