Warning:
Many of the electrical components in a Trendsetter VLF AL are extremely sensitive to electrostatic discharges. You must be well grounded with an antistatic wrist strap connected to a ground point within the Trendsetter VLF AL before accessing an electrical component.

Some boards and cables in the Trendsetter VLF AL carry hazardous voltage signals. Make sure that you know whether or not a board or cable is carrying hazardous voltage before disconnecting the cable or servicing the board.

Power Distribution Board (PDB)

Board 10 on the Trendsetter VLF AL is the PDB board - located in the power box. It controls safe voltages, the safety loop, and the cassette blower.

Connector J14 on the 10-4112G and earlier PDBs are 10-pin, whereas J14 on the 10-4112H and later are 16-pin. Use adapter cable 220-00316A when replacing the PDB with a version H or later board.
If the adapter cable is not available, or as an interim solution, the 10-pin plug can be connected to the top 10 pins of J14, pins 1 through 10 (the 16-pin connector is backwards compatible with the 10-pin plug in older devices). The bottom 6 pins are left empty (these new pins are used for board addressing in other products). The shape of the pins on the connector ensures that the plug will only fit into pins 1-10. Take note that the strain relief clip on the side of the connector will be offset so the strain relief will not clip together when the 10-pin plug is inserted into the 16-pin socket.
