| CA00433 | May 2003 | Carriage drive board 10-3761B has been failing in the field due to bad connector contacts and other reasons. The board has been redesigned for the MCU, SCU, L-conveyor and RS-conveyor, and released as P/N 503C01525B-E. Only +48V safe is supplied to the new board; +5V, +/-12V, and +24V are no longer needed. | Upgrade applies to machines before serial #B807 only. Replace the old carriage drive board (10-3716B or C) with the new board (503C01525B). As well as replacing the board itself, the power and motor cables must be replaced because two connectors on the board have been changed.

| CA03424 | Mar 2004 | On 5880 machines, the p-door may sometimes slam against the table when the table is in the up position, even though the p-door has fixed orifices to control its open/close sequences. |
Service needs to order only three items from kit 518-00617A BOM:

| CA01198 | Nov 2003 | Eight SSR units (on machines BA026 to BA033) were built with a fixed safety cover over the rollers. The design was changed to allow the operator to open the cover and clear paper jams. Two upgrade kits (R-L, L-R) have been created to upgrade the eight SSR units from fixed covers to opening covers. |
Upgrade the eight units to the opening cover.

| CA01744 | Jul 2003 | Older slip sheet bins (non-GT SSR) may fail to reset the counter properly if the MPE firmware is upgraded to V2.0. The new firmware is looking for a bag sensor that was introduced on the GT SSR bin. The recommended action is to revert to MPE firmware 1.18 until the next firmware release is available, which will fix the problem. However, a few sites may need to use MPE firmware V2.0 (to support V2.8 speed imaging, P33 imaging, the Delicate Media (DM) Picker option or the Processor Interface option). |

| CA01359 | June 2003 | On Genine boards, there is not enough thermal transfer on the stepper driver chip. Thermal compound has been added to the chip. |
Replace Genine board 10-4227C with 10-4227D. |
Next failure |
| E968 | May 2003 | The pneumatic rotary actuators for the slipsheet picker have been losing torque due to internal leakage. The type and size of speed control orifice has been changed to double the exhaust rate and eliminate inlet restriction. |
Replace the slip sheet picker (wedgemaster) rotary actuator speed controls.
Machines from serial number BA108 (B727) on have the version E SS picker installed. |
Next failure |
| CA00855 | Apr 2003 | For machines BA001 to BA0050 only, the table vacuum may not be capable of holding large plates on the table during the load/unload sequence. The table active cups assembly was designed to solve this problem, and is now installed on all production machines. Upgrade priority for machines BA001 to BA0050 should be given to sites that run very large plates. |

| E450 | Feb 2003 | Rollers on slip sheet unit wear out due to abrasion from slip sheets | When the SSR rollers fail at sites with high plate throughput, replace the entire unit with the new GT SSR unit (see upgrade kits below). At sites with low plate throughput, just replace the roller assembly (57-7720C) in the existing slip sheet bin. All machines manufactured from serial number BA105 are shipped with the GT compactor SSR.

| E897 | Oct 2002 | Plate sensors on load ramp, load table, and unload table lose connection due to fretting on the contacts between the cable and sensor. Replacement high flex cables have more reliable connectors. Sensors must be replaced in case of corrosion caused by previous connectors. | Kit #512-00006. See Replacing Sensors and Cables - FCO E897 for procedure. | Next failure |
| E725 | Jul 2002 | The relays on the MCU Safety Interface Board have a vent on the top of their casing. When cleaning solution gets into these holes it corrodes the relay contacts, causing unreliable operation. | Replace MCU Safety Interface Board 10-4697B with the new version, 10-4697C, which has sealed relays. Board functionality will be unchanged.

| E628 | Feb 2002 | Improve reliability of slipsheet picker 50-1743 by replacing O-rings with lower friction bushings, and selecting a more aggressive tooth design to prevent belt skip. | Replace slipsheet picker with new FRU 50-1743D-A BOM | Next failure |
| E449 | Nov 2001 | Opto sensor 10-4273 is unreliable | Replace with new sensor 10-4733. No cable changes necessary.
See the Sensors & Switches page for details on where used. |
