Calibration Test Procedures Overview for ThermoFlex Mid and Narrow

After installing a new head, you must recalibrate the platesetter.

Improper calibration of the TermoFlex Mid/Narrow device can result in the following imaging problems:

• Slash patterns on separations
• Fine lines on plates
• Dirty background
• Anamorphosis (bad image size)

To prevent these problems, your device should be properly calibrated, according to the calibration test procedures listed in the document.

Prerequisites to calibration test procedures

• Make sure that the media is properly qualified
• Perform the Preload and mechanical focus adjustment procedure
• Perform the Wide Focus Motor Replacement procedure

Calibration test procedures

Perform the calibration test procedures in the following order:

1. Focus Calibration Test
2. Elevation Calibration Test
3. Resolution Calibration Test
4. Delay Calibration Test
5. Drum speed calibration test (for flexo plates)
6. Intensity Calibration Test (for offset plates)
7. Laser Uniformity Calibration Test
8. Final Calibration Test
