To accommodate the changes in the linear bearings, the needle sizes for the lubrication syringes have been reduced.

• The 2 mm needle has been reduced to 1.8 mm (existing 2 mm needles can be used on newer bearings).
• The 1.5 mm needle has been reduced to 1.2 mm (existing 1.5 mm needles cannot be used on newer bearings).
• A 0.9 mm needle size has been added for the P-cup picker rails.

A grease gun has also been added to the isntallation tool kit.

You can use the smaller needles on older linear rails, but excess grease will leak past the needle. Go to the APL Parts page for details.

The CR4.1 CD contains a file called KodakScsiCtpInfInstaller.exe in the patches folder. DO NOT install this file. Installing this file will cause communication problems with the SCSI port and could result in a hard-down situation.

If this patch is already installed on a workstation, run the installer again and select the Uninstall option to restore the SCSI connectivity.

All output devices that use PDB 10-4112 are at risk, especially the Magnus VLF with TH3 and APL. The safety relays can malfunction and weld together. If this occurs, the head remains energized. If the safety interlocked access panels are open, and you use the direct diagnostic prompt from Service Shell, you can create a potentially hazardous situation.

When you replace a GMCE board, the new board may not have the same core firmware (boot code and Xilinx) loaded as the old board. Rerun the core firmware installer to update the code after replacing the board.

On some Magnus VLF TH3 devices, an inrush current causes circuit breaker CB1 to trip. This happens while performing Power and SD series, when the drum is stopping and accelerating between strips at 350+ RPM. To resolve this problem, run TPA Power and SD Series with the option "Leave drum spinning between strips" enabled. This problem has not been seen during normal imaging operations. Interrupt sensors such as the home/away sensors will show “blocked” and reflective sensors will never detect something in front of them. See the Troubleshooting page for details.

Controlled release 4.01 has now been released. As part of this controlled release, Service Shell now has a device configuration tracker applet. This applet can be used as an electronic version of the 100 label. A new service tool within the Service Shell 3.1 client allows recording and tracking FCOs, preventative maintenance visits, and other service actions on a device.
