Magnus 400 platesetters that are currently being delivered to customer sites include some new features and parts, such as a humidity view hole and temperature sticker on the LDA optic head, and a new single roller assembly on the unload side of the drum. FCO 512-00364A Spring Spoiler for Magnus 400 resolves misregistration problems and hot spots by replacing the spoilers with spring spoilers that can also accommodate different customer plate sizes and thicknesses. Use the procedure Replacing spring spoilers on Magnus 400 platesetters when you replace the fixed spoilers with the new spring spoilers. The new spring spoilers correct misregistration problems and hot spots, and accommodate different customer plate sizes and thicknesses. Calibrating grippers on Magnus 400 and Lotem 400 platesetters describes what to do when the platesetter fails to load or unload plates because the grippers are not operating properly. Find the procedure under Calibration on the Procedures page.

Like the earlier 400S imaging head, the new 400S head has 32 exposing lasers. However, instead of six spare lasers, the new head has 16 spare lasers positioned in two groups of eight lasers on each side of the 32 exposing lasers. Centering the working lasers helps to prevent artifacts and improve image quality.

Magnus 400 LDA platesetters are now supplied with shipping safeguards to secure the compressor inside the chiller. It is necessary to remove these safeguards, beginning with machine number M4I058 (for 50 Hz) and M4I046 (for 60 Hz).
